Pre Ww2 German Police Shako Bremen Tschako Helmet HatUp for bids is a rare felt coverde bremen german polizei tschako. The tshako is felt covered and bears the insignia of the bremen police the pictures are faithful to the color of the felt. This piece may possibly be of pre world war two manufacture as it appears to be somewhat different ni appearance than the post-war models. The star is of two piece construction and bears no markings. The liner is sturdy with no tears but hsa some discoloration and is a bit stiff. The name h.Schade is handwritten on the side of the liner along with an undecipherable number. Perforated ventilation holes are present on the front fo the leather suspension. Crazing and surface cracking are present on the visor, neck drape, and leather accents the visor and neck drape appear to possibly be made of shellacked pressed paper as opposed to vulcan fiber. Minor chipping is present to the edge of the visor and neck drape. Some loose threads are present on the dome piece of the helmet but it is still sturdy and firmly attached. nOe vertical crack of about 1/2 is present on the edge of the helmet dome piece this is pictured. A linear scuff of about 2 1/2 is present on the back of the felt covering- this is pictured. The chin strap is in good shape. Paint loss is present on the chin strap posts and the ventilation holes. The manufacturer's label is obscured by a label for the international police association (ipa) which appears to mark it as a presentation piece and the label is signed by the president of the organization the label is dated september 16, 1971.All items over $30.00 in value must be shipped insured usps priority mail.
